Should this mention kan and poka somewhere? Jan Ke Tami (talk) 23:35, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Oh, this one could be an interesting quote regarding poka:
[@jansonja]. (1 June 2023). Message in #toki-pona. ma pona pi toki pona. Discord. Retrieved 17 November 2023. "who claimed it was a preposition in the past? i never used or taught it that way.".
Plus sourcing Pije courses and the sitelen suwi design for poka being a preposition. Jan Ke Tami (talk) 23:41, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Here jan Pije teaches poka as a preposition. Besides that, I can hardly find any examples of its being used that way; but that could well be because the IRC and geocities are lost/I don't have them to immediate hand. Can confirm that Sonja's first lessons don't even have poka, and it shows up in early word lists as a "content word." JPeton (talk) 05:35, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

jan Juli specifically argues that they are not content words, and I think that's a serious enough theory to be worth adding some sort of nuance or qualification to the statement that they are. In particular, we shouldn't cite jan Juli as if they say that prepositions are content words. JPeton (talk) 16:48, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
