This system has been criticized heavily for a variety of reasons:

- More than 2-3 tallies is difficult to read/overly compact

- Longer words are effectively impossible to represent in this system (consequence of the above)

- Reading a character at a time tends toward being slower than reading a mora at a time, comprehension wise


Additionally:

- the stated downside of NSK compared to this system, needing to understand mora, appears to be overstated; mora are explained in a single sentence *in* the NSK article

- The same stated downside is not in the criticism section of the NSK article

- Several downsides of the NSK system are also downsides of this system, but go unstated here (ambiguity when one glyph has multiple readings, difficulty of writing ju nu pe) Gregdan3 (talk) 16:54, 26 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
