Frankly it's not surprising at all that there should be uncertainty. I'm certain that any or all of those words might have come to Sonja's attention at some point and that by the time she came to writing the etymologies up she'd forgotten exactly where it came from. - Is it not worth including the reference to the Word Origins source? That seems to be the obvious place to point to substantiate the claim that the etymology is uncertain. JPeton (talk) 16:05, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- I cited the 1st edition of nimi ale pona because that seems to be the origin of the claim; I haven't done the full comparison point by point of the two editions, though. JPeton (talk) 16:06, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
