Actions are generally stated directly as verbs in Toki Pona, even in some cases that would be strange in English:

mi ni

mi ni.

I do this.

o ijo

o ijo.

Do something.

Historically and in pu, the verb "to do" was translated as pali, but it since become popular to use pali more selectively for certain kinds of work or creation.

A related concept is "to happen", which is sometimes translated with kama or lon.
