It makes a distinction between the {{w|Americas}} as a continent ({{tp|ma Amelika}}), derived from {{w|Romance languages}}, compared with the name of the {{w|United States}} ({{tp|ma Mewika}}), often simply called "America". The latter has the characteric {{w|English rhotic}} [[Tokiponization|transcribed]] as /w/.

Names from smaller subcontinents are not specified, however, the words {{tp|[[lete]]}} and {{tp|[[seli]]}} are often used for "north" and "south", as in {{tp|ma Amelika lete}} ("{{w|North America}}").
