Personal words/glyphs[edit | edit source]

some members in the Toki Pona community have either personal words, such as lipamanka and nata, or a personal glyph in sitelen pona, such as jan Kita and jan Kapilu.

what is the reason that people use them, what are some important/well-known people that use them, when did this start coming into fashion, how do some people form these glyphs, etc etc

the font linja lipamanka has several ligatures to provide support for these (is there a single document with all ligatures in linja lipamanka?), and the Fairfax fonts designate the blocks FF900-FFBFF (Sitelen Pona Presentation Forms-A and Sitelen Pona Presentation Forms-B). Given that linja lipamanka is considered in progress and incomplete, making a documentation is a bit early. I can generate a list of all ligatures, if you like. Sidenote: FF900-FFBFF is not part of UCSUR, it's just that extra characters need to go... somewhere. Jan Ke Tami (talk) 23:19, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
if it's not a hassle, a list of ligatures would be very helpful to be compiled.
I am aware that FF900-FFBFF isn't part of the UCSUR, sorry if my wording wasn't clear. SnpoSuwan (talk) 11:03, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No, don't worry, I should have made clear this was meant as additional information.
Here are the exported ligatures: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nku436K01EzDyZsF7zu2d0YpwFokbfiHXiuGAE7UCxw/edit?usp=sharing Jan Ke Tami (talk) 21:41, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
