The word anta is derived from Okinawan 油 (anda), meaning "oil". It was coined by ilo Powa in 2022; like aku, it was created "in order to expand the taste words".[1]
Semantic space Edit
The semantic space of anta includes oil, fat, and grease, as well as related properties such as slipperiness. It also includes flavors such as saltiness and savoriness, making it a counterpart to suwi ("sweet") and a hyponym of the extended sense of kule.
