nu is a content word and synonym for sin, presumably derived from English "new". It is listed in nimi ale section 1b alongside nuwa, meaning "newer". The words appear in nimi Elemenopi's r/OffThePu project, and nu is notable for colliding with a reserved word in Toki Pona Dictionary, but otherwise they seem to be in disuse.
