Etymology Edit
The word puwa is derived from Japanese ふわふわ (Hepburn: fuwafuwa), meaning "softly, fluffily" as of a pillow or foam. It was coined in 2021 by jan Seli in the ma pona pi toki pona community.[1]
Semantic space Edit
The semantic space of puwa includes fluffy, soft, and squishy things, those that can be compressed and will try to return to their original shape. Its usage overlaps with the semantic spaces of ko and suwi.
