The word {{tp|sutopatikuna}} predated {{tp|[[sitelen pona]]}}; a glyph was later{{wh|when?}} proposed{{wh|by whom?}} so that it could be used in the writing system. The proposed glyph ({{sp|sutopatikuna}}) represents a platypus head, with a curved beak. In practice, it is unknown whether this glyph sees significant use.
