'''{{tp|sitelen sitelen}}''' (also known as '''{{tp|sitelen suwi}}''') is a logographic writing system for [[Toki Pona]], created by Jonathan Gabel around 2006.<ref>https://www.jonathangabel.com/toki-pona/kama-pona/</ref> It is one of the two non-Latin writing systems featured in {{pu|en}}, alongside {{tp|[[sitelen pona]]}}. The overall style of {{tp|sitelen sitelen}} was inspired by United States west-coast {{wp|comix}} and east-coast {{wp|graffiti}}, while the word shapes themselves are often taken from hieroglyphs or religious symbols.<ref>https://jonathangabel.com/toki-pona/acknowledgements/</ref>

When written at smaller sizes where they would otherwise be too dense, glyphs can be simplified. The [//jonathangabel.com/toki-pona/dictionaries/drawing-steps drawing dictionary] presents each word glyph at large and small sizes to give examples for how details can be removed while staying recognizable.

{{tok|jan Mato}} wanted to test whether artificial languages were suited for sales contracts.<ref>[//forums.tokipona.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1201&start=30#p6046]</ref> In 2009, Gabel followed through on {{tok|Mato}}'s challenge, negotiating with him mainly in Toki Pona<ref>[//forums.tokipona.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1222&start=0]</ref> and creating "{{tp|lipu lawa pi esun kama}}: a contract for future sales". Written in {{tp|sitelen sitelen}}, the contract describes the sale of itself for $100 USD to {{tok|jan Mato}}.<ref>Jonathan Gabel (August 2, 2012).
