Writing systems

From sona pona, the Toki Pona wiki
(Redirected from sitelen mute pi toki pona)

This is a non-exhaustive list of the writing systems created for Toki Pona.

The Latin script, sitelen pona, and sitelen sitelen are the three writing systems featured in Toki Pona: The Language of Good. They are also the best known and most widely understood. However, tinkerers often invent other writing systems for personal or aesthetic expression, data compression, compatibility with other natural-language writing systems, neographic experiments with the limited vocabulary, or simply for fun.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. Usually plain stops are used even in contexts where they would become voiced.
  2. Some usage omits the handakuten from ぱぴぷぺぽ, since the contrast with はひふへほ isn't needed in toki pona.
  3. Cyrillization can be based on different languages, depending on which some sequences can be written differently: ja (я, ја, йа), je (є, е, је, йе), jo (ё, јо, йо), ju (ю, ју, йу), e (е, э).
  4. The characters and have equal votes for the word pana in the first round, and are equally valid. One should be used instead of both.
