Etymology[edit | edit source]
The word linluwi was coined jan inwin in 2017 and is derived from Welsh rhyngrwyd, meaning "Internet", itself from rhyng- ("between") and rhwyd ("net").[1][2] The Welsh term is a calque of English Internet.
Semantic space[edit | edit source]
The semantic space of linluwi includes the Internet and things relating to it. By analogy, it also includes the concepts of connectedness and weaving.[3]

sitelen pona[edit | edit source]
There are many sitelen pona glyphs for linluwi. The most popular one (linluwi), as determined in an ad hoc survey by Linku on January 2024,[5] is derived from the glyphs for len, linja, and sitelen. Variations on this design include linluwi2 and linluwi3.
An alternative variant (linluwi4) is derived from the glyph for kulupu interconnected with lines. This is most often used by proponents of the extended use for linluwi as in the sense of "interconnected".
