In 15 December 2022, the YouTube channel Half as Interesting released the video "Toki Pona: The Language You Can Learn in a Day",[2] which was widely criticized by the Toki Pona community for containing various factual errors. pakola and Sini are typos of pakala and sina, respectively, present in the video.
Throughout 2023, several people started using pakola as a tongue-in-cheek way to say pakala. The semantic space of pakala includes the meanings "botched, broken, screw up". Some people say that they use pakola for something that is especially botched or broken, more so than when they use pakala. This is especially common in the Japanese toki pona community.[citation needed]
