The word sama is derived from Finnish sama, meaning "same", and Esperanto sama, itself from English same.[1]
Semantic space[edit | edit source]
The semantic space of sama includes similarity, thus describing objects and ideas with qualities in common, as well as their equivalence.[2]

When used as a preposition, sama indicates that the preceding phrase is like the prepositional phrase.
