The word jami is derived from English yummy. It was coined in 2017. According to Linku, the coiner is unknown.

Semantic space[edit | edit source]

The semantic space of jami includes things that are tasty, or that otherwise elicit a positive sensory experience. It may be used as an interjection. Linku compares jami to the words suwi and pilin.

sitelen pona[edit | edit source]

A proposed sitelen pona glyph for jami (jami) is based on the glyph for suwi (suwi) but with an open smiling mouth as in dotless uta (uta2), combining the emoticons ^.^ and :D.
