The word ona is derived from Serbo-Croatian ona / она, meaning "she".[1]

The word ona is a third-person pronoun, which is not marked for number, gender, or animacy. It can mean singular he/him, she/her, they/them, it and similar pronouns, and plural they/them. As a modifier, it usually implies possession, as in his, her, their, and its.
Rarely, ona may be used as a third-person neopronoun in English.[2]
