slape is a humorous synonym of lape. It breaks Toki Pona's phonotactics with the consonant cluster sl-.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
The word was coined by jan Kawa in 2017 and is a blend of the Toki Pona word lape and English sleep.[1]

The word slape is not often used in sitelen pona. A proposed glyph (slape)[by whom? when?] combines that of lape (lape) with the Latin letter S. In practice, it is unknown whether this glyph sees significant use.
