wekama is an obscure content word relating to temporary absence with the expectation of returning.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The word wekama is a portmanteau of the Toki Pona words weka and kama, roughly meaning "away" and "coming", respectively. It was coined by jan ko[1] in July 2020.[2]

Semantic space[edit | edit source]

The semantic space of wekama includes anything that first applies to that of weka, then later in time counts as kama.

sitelen pona[edit | edit source]

The sitelen pona glyph for wekama (wekama) is composed of the top two rays of the glyph for weka (weka) above the glyph for kama (kama)
