The word mulapisu was coined in November 2019 by jan Sonja in the ma pona pi toki pona community as a keysmash.[1][2]

The sitelen pona glyph for mulapisu (mulapisu) represents a pizza slice, usually with three circles representing pepperoni toppings, which happen to be in the same configuration as the glyph for kulupu (kulupu). It may be either pointing upwards or downwards.[4] It was designed by nimi Elemenopi in July 2020.[5][6]
