Etymology
It is derived from pipi with influence from the verb sense of English bug, and was coined by jan Ejewa and jan inwin in 2017.
sitelen pona
The word pipo is not often used in sitelen pona. A proposed glyph (pipo) was designed by nimi Elemenopi in July 2020.[1][2] It is derived from the glyph for pipi (pipi) and also represents an insect, but with the legs curved down so that each pair of legs forms the frowning glyph for ike (ike). In practice, it is unknown whether this glyph sees significant use.
