The pre-pu era of Toki Pona began in 2001, with the start of jan Sonja's work on the language and the publication of an early version online, and ended in May 2014 with the publication of Toki Pona: The Language of Good (lipu pu).
History[edit | edit source]
jan Sonja shared early versions of Toki Pona online starting in August 2001, and got feedback on words and features. The project initially gained popularity with Esperantists. Much of the early activity was on Yahoo! Groups, from March 2002 onwards, and a dedicated phpBB forum.
Words[edit | edit source]
The nimi pu were, by definition, all coined in the pre-pu era. The following pre-pu words were excluded from pu, but later revived as nimi ku suli:
