oke is an obscure interjection and post-pu nimi ku lili used to indicate approval and acceptance, loaned from English okay.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
The word oke was borrowed from English OK/okay. It is unclear when or by whom it was first coined,[1] and it might have been coined independently by multiple people. The oldest uses on ma pona pi toki pona are by janKala in June and July 2017,[2][3] after which others began to use it.

It was designed by nimi Elemenopi in July 2020.[5][6]

ke is an obscure interjection used as a variant of oke.[7] It was coined by jan Maliku and jan Kisinja around 2015 independently from oke[1][8] and brought to the ma pona pi toki pona community in late 2017. jan Maliku and jan Kisinja considered coining the word as oke, but they shortened it to ke to avoid it being too similar to oko.[8] It was likely influenced by English 'kay.
A proposed sitelen pona glyph for ke (ke) is derived from the punctuation stem and the uppercase Latin letter K. The punctuation stem can be drawn upright (ke) or at a diagonal (ke). Compare the glyphs for a, kin, n, o, and wa.
