omekapo, short for o moku e kala pona (literally, "eat [a] good fish!"), is a phrase for "goodbye", used in the ma pona pi toki pona Discord server.[1]
Etymology
The phrase o moku e kala pona was coined by jan Sonja in a Toki Pona meetup in Texas, when she inscribed a copy of the book Toki Pona: The Language of Good with the following sentence:[2]
jan Maliku o!
sina mije pona.
ale li pona.
o moku e
kala pona.

Singer and songwriter jan Usawi coined two new words similarly to omekapo for their songs omakalike (2021), short for o moku e kala ike,[3] and omekalikante (2022), short for o moku e kala ike ante.[4]
