omekapo is a proposed phrase for "goodbye", particularly used in the ma pona pi toki pona Discord server. It is an abbreviation of o moku e kala pona ("eat [a] good fish!").[1]

The phrase o moku e kala pona was coined by jan Sonja in a Toki Pona meetup in Texas,[citation needed] when she inscribed a copy of the book Toki Pona: The Language of Good with the following sentence:[2]
jan Maliku o!
sina mije pona.
ale li pona.
o moku e
kala pona.
Sonja
:)
Cultural significance
Singer and songwriter jan Usawi coined two new words similarly to omekapo for their songs omekalike (2021), short for o moku e kala ike,[3] and omekalikante (2022), short for o moku e kala ike ante.[4]
